The Art of Wilbur G. Kurtz
About the Artist Available Prints
TNP Fine Art Giclée Reproductions is proud to have obtained the publishing rights to twelve works from the vast collection of noted artist/historian, Wilbur G. Kurtz.

Mr. Kurtz had the ability to transfer his meticulous research and notes into paintings with exquisite detail and historical accuracy. He interviewed several surviving members of James J. Andrews' raiding party as well as Confederate participants, and created a visual series of paintings that captured the excitement and drama of the Raid itself.

The pen and ink drawings offered here display Mr. Kurtz' skills as an architectural renderer with an artistic flair. His paintings of the stagecoach racing the locomotive and Uncle Jake and Aunt Judy express a beauty all their own with the use of color and subject matter.

Prints are produced on acid-free, archival quality art paper using UltraChrome inks. All limited edition giclée prints will be signed and numbered by Wilber G. Kurtz, III, grandson of Mr. Kurtz, and great-grandson of Captain William A. Fuller. Captain Fuller was conductor on the morning of April 12, 1862 when the locomotive General was captured at Big Shanty, and was instrumental in foiling the Andrews' Raid. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
